Project activities/results: The main project aims shall be strengthening the institutional cooperation between regional ports in relation to port security. Project activities/results: The project builds on preservation of regional heritage and complements the integrated tourism product–cultural tourism of 365 Riviera, developed under the project 365 DAYS OF RIVIERA, by including nat. and cult. heritage and events in the countryside into a newly formed itineraries. The common challenge of the programme area, undertaken by the project, using cross-border cooperation is to promote active preservation of cult. and nat. heritage by promoting sustainable green tourism. This approach is based on the fact that Portorož and Opatija, represent a cradle of Central European tourism with a rich tradition. With events organised in the countryside of both cities, as well as minor developments, efforts are undertaken to utilise this potential in the most tourism-oriented places of this region in order to directly increase the number of visitors at the common cross-border destination. Educational workshops are organised to inform stakeholders about sustainable management, to promote green job positions, and increase international recognition of cross-border destination on international markets. The project includes innovative approaches to increase integration and joint presentation of destination on international markets (joint portal, itineraries, events and promotion).

Project activities/results: The project “QNeST – Quality Network on Sustainable Tourism” aims to valorise the common and quality features of the cultural, traditional and environmental heritage of the Adriatic-Ionian area.  QNeST will launch a common brand for the promotion of a quality sustainable tourism and will stimulate the creation of a network of Adriatic-Ionian actors and economic operators, active in or indirectly involved in the tourism sector.

Project activities/results: In the frame of the GUEST UP project the University of Primorska shall be visited by 66 foreign professors, from which 8 will visit Turistica and enrich our study programmes. Project activities/results: Preparation of a professional basis for the establishment of a museum exhibition: analysis of the existing examples of best
 practice, overview of the results of former researches and similar projects (understanding the trends), creation of appropriate tools for a research among the Slovenian youth and conduction of a survey in at least three secondary schools and at least two higher education institutions. Presentation of a web exhibition and exhibition in a non-virtual environment with at least 100 different exhibits and relevant professional descriptions. The classic exhibition will contain video presentations as well (using ICT).

Creative ideas for entrepreneurial co-creation of new tourist products

Project activities/results: The main goal of the project is developing an integral tourist product in Slovenian Istria, which will enhance the attractiveness of the  tourist destination in low season for a chosen target group and contribute to the development of cooperation between tourism providers while promoting the common tourist offer. The participating students shall develop or design a new integral tourist product, custom it in accordance to theoretical tourism, marketing and entrepreneurial knowledge and with the collaboration of actual tourism providers.

Project activities/results: The project is aimed to encourage the operation of smaller operators in the field of innovative use of natural resources of the forest for tourist purposes. Thus, the project content is based on an innovative approach, exploration of new sustainable solutions by researching the forest functions in relation to tourism, wishes and needs of tourists and identification and analysis of successful worldwide practices in the field.

Project activities/results: The project is composed from an analytic and empirical part. An overview of the past cultural, sport and entertaining events in the tourism offer of Portorož shall be made in the analytical part; such an overview has not yet been done. In past, Portorož has been part of different states and therefore the historic memory has been lost a few time. Based on the analysis of past events and through interdisciplinary creative workshops, a concept idea for the preparation of new events shall be set. It will serve as a guideline for the organisation of events in the future. A public presentation of the research results and new propositions in form of an exhibition shall be organised, thus informing a wider public as well.

Project activities/results: With the new brand of gourmet coffee, we want to present ourselves and contribute to this small yet growing segment, and enable a higher level of coffee culture among the wider public through contemporary distribution channels. Through a thorough marketing analysis, we expect to gain concrete data, which will help us identify and understand our target market. In conformity with the obtained results, our product shall also be shaped; starting with the design of the package, size and content as well as the marketing mix of the product. We hope that our effort will be rewarded with a good market response and consequently with the company growth and possibility of new employments.

Project title: ENTrepreneurship in tourism in hinterland – LABoratory (HINT-LAB)

Results: Creation of support services for the improvement of cross-border business cooperation and joint marketing. This objective will be achieved by encouraging networking, upgrade on Bank of Tourism Potentials in Slovenia, producing guidelines for the marketing of joint products and by proposal of the model for symbiotic marketing and branding.

Project title: Paths of Istrian Malvasia (Malvazija TourIstra)

Results: A common cross-border wine brand – Istrian Malvasia will be characterized and evaluated (physicochemical parameters, aromatics, style, nutritional value); Optimized technology and clear guidelines for the production of different styles (fresh, archaic, macerated…) of Malvasia wine; Developed guidelines for improved management of production technology aimed at reducing potential contaminants in the final product; Elaborated individual Itineraries (travel tours), which connect the holders of tourist offer in order to form an integrated tourism product “Following the trails of Istrian Malvasia”.

Project title: Benchmarking of Croatian and Slovenian hotel industry: instrument to increase competitiveness and entrepreneurship development (CrossBench)
Start date – end date: 15.2.2013 – 15.7.2015
Results: Innovative benchmarking tool for comparison of business indicators of Slovenian and Croatian hotels is one of the most important outputs of this project and it comprises cross-border component, hence it is applicable on both countries.

Project title: Stone of the Karst, Istria and Kvarner – Heritage Preservation and Traditional Techniques; Obtaining and Using Stone (KAMEN MOST)

Results: The project activities are expected to contribute to better recognition of the stone constructions, obtaining, designing and processing the stone, and strengthen the awareness of the importance of cultural heritage preservation.

Project title: Sabotin – Park of peace

Results: The aim was to become a symbol of integration and Sabotin overcoming boundaries, an important recreational and tourist destination, along with all the attractions, it also has great tourism potential. Sabotin area as a ‘Peace Park’, in the overall tourism product, which was originally intended primarily inhabitants of Gorizia area on both sides of the border, and visitors to the area.
