Orientation days for international students

The end of September was very lively at Turistica, especially in the spirit of internationality. On Thursday 27 September 2018, on World Tourism Day, the rich programme of the orientation days for foreign students at the University of Primorska had its final events at Turistica. We welcomed all the foreign students, who will occupy the lecture halls of the University of Primorska from 1 October on. The students attended the opening f the photography exhibition Kiitos Suomi (Thank you Finland) and the “Who are my fellow students?” fair.

The author of the exhibition Ana Stergulc brought us to Finland and showed us the period she spent there as an Erasmus+ student. With the exhibition she displayed Finland’s beauty and the highlights of the best period of her studies, and consequently encourage students to go on such journeys themselves.

The fair “Who are my fellow students?” features the international students of the University of Primorska, who presented their countries, cultures and customs with characteristic food and drinks, which they brought here. Thus there was a wonderful smell of delicious foreign treats. At the end, we surprised the students with the typical Istrian dish bobiči.

Dream, believe and achieve

At Turistica the last days of September were marked by study, mobility and interculturalism. We welcomed our international students on 28 September 2017 in Koper and later on in Portorož, at our Faculty, where we organised the “Who are my fellow students?” event. In the following days we organised various events in the frame of the “Improvement of Higher Education internationalisation” programme.

On Friday we took a more interactive approach, which called upon active cooperation between the students, and we got to know the students, their motivation and expectations better.

In the first semester Turistica will host 24 Erasmus+ students and 6 foreign students on the Tourism Enterprise Management study programme, which is being taught in English as well from this study year on.
