in the Lecture Hall nr. 001 in Portorož, Obala 11a.

The diplomas will be awarded to those students,

who graduated during the period: 1 june 2017 – 25 january 2018.

Guest lecture: prof. Craig Webster, Ball State University

In the frame of the GUEST UP project UP FTŠ Turistica will host prof. Craig Webster from Ball State University, Indiana, USA.

Tuesday, 10 April 2018, Classroom 001, from 12.00 to 15.00: ”Future tourism” in “AI and Robotics in the hospitality and tourism industries”.

Wednesday, 11 April 2018, Classroom 002, from 10.00 to 12.00: “The Crimean crisis and its impact upon the management of hotels and hospitality businesses in Ukraine, Russia, and Crimea”.

Wednesday, 11 April 2018, in Ljubljana, from 16.00. to 20.00: «Future tourism«, “Political shocks and impacts upon the hospitality and tourism industry” in “Managing underground events.

Thursday, 12 April 2018, Classroom 001, from 14.00 to 16.00: “Managing underground events”.

The lectures will be held in English. The lecturer is hosted by dr. Miha Lesjak, Emil Juvan, PhD, Australia and mag. Tomi Brezovec.

Guest lecturer: prof. Michael Belch (SDSU)

In the frame of the Erasmus+ project UP FTŠ Turistica will host prof. Michael Belch, a renowned and internationally distinguished marketing professor from the San Diego State University in California (USA).

Michael Belch is the co-author of the best selling textbook in the field of marketing, Advertising and Promotion: An Integrated Marketing Communications Perspective.

Prof. Belch already visited Turistica in September 2017:

The author, his work and topic will be presented by dr. Aleš Gačnik, the students of cultural tourism, on the other hand, will highlight the stories of the presented dishes and take care of the cultural programme.  

A special speech during the opening will be held by dr. Stanislav Renčelj.

After the opening we kindly invite you to join the social evening with “fritle”with the Šavrinka (local woman from Šavrinija) Rozana Prešeren from the Tourism Association Šparžin from Korte in company with selected Slovenian wines.

INTERNATIONAL WEEK 2018

The University of Primorska and the Faculty of Tourism Studies Turistica welcome administrative and teaching staff from the Erasmus+ partner universities during the “International Week 2018 of the University of Primorska” that will take place from 14 to 18 May 2018.

More information in the attached Draft Programme.

The programme activities are planned for administrative staff. Teaching staff is welcome to offer guest lectures during the International Week, which have to be agreed with the faculty (natasa.grzinic@fts.upr.si). Teaching staff may also participate in the programme activities. Participation in the scheduled programme is free of charge. Other costs such as travel and accommodation are covered by the participants themselves.
