You will be able to park at the parking lot in front of the faculty free of charge. If all the places are taken, you may also park at the Bernardin parking lot (if you go towards Piran, you turn left just before going uphill).

Enrolment at the University of Primorska

In accordance with legislation, application procedures and admission vary depending on the nationality of the candidate for entry, as follows:

  • applications and enrollment for Slovenian citizens, citizens of the EU, and foreign citizens who have permanent residence in Slovenia under the regulations of the Income Tax taxpayers of the Republic of Slovenia
  • application and entry for citizens of countries outside the European Union, and Slovenians without Slovenian citizenship

Orientation days for incoming students

We will soon be able to say: “Welcome to Turistica, the University of Primorska, Welcome to Slovenia and Welcome to the Slovenian coast!”

The University of Primorska  is organizing the Orientation Days for incoming students between 14 – 15 February 2019, where you can learn about the university and local area, get familiar with the administrative procedures related to your arrival to Slovenia, meet fellow students, tutors and university staff, Student Organisation of the University of Primorska and much much more.

One of the planned activities is also Country fair & Typical local dish, where students are invited to promote their country and home institution. Please bring with you any kind of promotional leaflets or other promotional material, local food, etc. !

Gastronomy for Tourism Development: Potential of the Western Balkans

The guest editors of this book are seeking contributions in theoretical and practical aspects of gastronomy potentials for tourism development of the Western Balkans region. Accordingly, the book aims to include both empirical research works as well as conceptual pieces covering (but not limited to) to the following topics:

  • tourism and gastronomy,
  • the role of gastronomy in destination marketing,
  • strategies of gastronomy development,
  • sustainability in gastronomy,
  • authentic food offerings,
  • gastronomic specialities and their protection,
  • local food production and consumption,
  • quality management in gastronomy,
  • economic growth, tourism and local food production,
  • cooperation between various stakeholders (education, agriculture, tourism, culture),
  • Innovation and education in gastronomy.

 Author Guidelines

Submission Procedure:
Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before March 30, 2019, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by April 15, 2019, about the status of their proposals. Full chapters are expected to be submitted by August 31, 2019. All contributions must be lectured. Interested authors must follow the attached guidelines for manuscript submissions. The submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.

Note: There are NO submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication. All manuscripts are accepted based on a double-blind peer review editorial process.

Visit Turistica’s info point at the Informativa Educational and Career Fair 2019

Dear future students,
Welcome to Portorož, Welcome to Turistica! 

Visit the  Informativa Educational and Career Fair 2019 in Ljubljana on Friday and Saturday, 25. in 26. January 2019 from 9.00 do 18.00. As usual UP FTŠ Turistica will have an info point, where our employees will gladly answer all of your questions and present our study programmes, and students will share their study experience with you.

We also prepared an interactive workshop Use of Virtual Reality in Tourism, where we will present the 360° technology that we use at Turistica and within our research projects. You will be able to watch  360° videos and try our VR glasses.
