CALL FOR PAPERS

Dear colleagues,

we would like to invite you to take part in the 3rd International conference “Foreign Languages and Tourism” , to be held in Portorož (Slovenia) at the University of Primorska, Faculty of Tourism Studies, from September 15 – 16,  2016.  

The teaching of foreign languages for tourism can only be successful if it follows the trends and challenges in teaching LSPs  and in the tourism sector as well. Due to this fact we want to bring  together scientists and practitioners to exchange their professional ideas, experience and knowledge and to present their  latest achievements in the field of foreign languages for tourism.

  • Conference Topics:
    Needs analysis in languages for tourism
  • The didactics of teaching foreign languages for tourism both at vocational and university levels (teaching materials, curricula …)
  • Intercultural pragmatics in tourism settings
  • Translation and (mis)interpretation
  • Interdisciplinary teaching
  • Language policy
  • Other topics concerning foreign languages and their role in tourism

The deadline for the registration as a presenter is  March 20, 2016, and as a  listener April 20, 2016. Submitted papers will be reviewed and published in the Conference Proceedings.

The languages of the conference are English, German, Slovenian or Croatian.

The conference fee covers admission to all sessions, materials, conference proceedings, refreshments during breaks.
